Be inconsistent in order to be consistent

For many years I’ve been extremely honest with myself and have kept true to myself. This wasn’t always the case. Some 20 years ago or so I decided to plant my seed down, stay true to my goals and learn as much as possible in my choice of career. Although I had a great work ethic and gave consistent effort I had much to learn. I worked, I led, I was led, I refined my skills, I learned what worked, and most importantly I learned what didn’t.

The plan was to stay loyal to a brand, remain consistent and get my opportunities. The goal has always been to earn enough to invest in my kids education and our future.

As sometimes it happens, the plan didn’t go as expected. At this point I felt that I was ready for more responsibility, more opportunities. Staying true to myself, I decided to move on and this time I was going to remain flexible until the right opportunity came through.

As scary as uncertainty can be, I decided I had the skills, know how and grit to provide for my family. We sold and got rid of everything and took a leap of faith to a different State. Unfortunately, that opportunity didn’t pan out and I’ve had to move to different states and cities staying true to myself and my goal.

Being consistent and loyal to brands is very important and it can pay dividends. However, more important than that, one must stay consistent with staying true to oneself and ones dreams. If staying inconsistent in order to be consistent is what needs to happen then let’s go!

Stay true to yourself, your goals and your dreams.

Love y’all
